Dr. Robert Caveney joins staff at Wheeling Hospital

CAVENEY
WHEELING – Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Robert Caveney has joined the staff at Wheeling Hospital.
A native of Wheeling, Caveney has practiced orthopedic surgery in his hometown since 1981. He is experienced in various areas, including:
– total joint replacement, including knee, hip and shoulder, with a modified-mini approach as indicated;
– pediatric orthopedics, sports medicine;
– fractures of the upper and lower extremities;
– arthroscopy of the knee;
– rotator cuff repairs; and
– foot and ankle surgery.

Caveney graduated from The Linsly School as valedictorian. He is a graduate of West Virginia University and the WVU School of Medicine. Caveney completed his orthopedic residency at the University of Pittsburgh and pursued a post-doctoral research fellowship in adult reconstructive surgery at UPMC in Pittsburgh.
He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons and is also a member and fellow of the American College of Surgeons. In addition, he is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. Caveney’s teaching appointments include clinical assistant professor of orthopedic surgery at WVU School of Medicine.
