BELLAIRE — Jeffrey Kase, the man accused of raping a 9-year-old girl, had his bond set at $100,000 after making his initial court appearance Monday in front of Eastern Division Court Judge D. William Davis.
“Prosecutors requested a high bond due to the of the severity of the charge and since the purpose of the bond is to insure your appearance and to protect the public. I see a good reason for a high bond in this case,” Davis said, setting the bond to $100,000.

Buckeye Blues
Tue, January 6, 2009 @ 1:28PM
There are no moral victories in athletics. Ohio State played well against Texas Monday night in the Fiesta Bowl, but did not get the job done. After back-to-back blowout losses in the last two BCS title games, it was refreshing to see the Buckeyes perform at a high level. But a great OSU comeback was foiled by a last-minute drive by the Longhorns, a march conducted minus timeouts by the eventual winners. Thus, another bitter bowl pill to swallow for the Buckeye faithful. The 2008 season harbored great optimism for the Buckeyes. Three losses, however, paint a much different picture.

The good stuff...
Tue, January 6, 2009 @ 9:33AM
Isn't it supposed to be enjoyable? And of course you all know by now that, no, I am not talking about the process of finding "the one." Of course that is NOT enjoyable. I'm talking about the phase after you've landed him. You know, the good stuff -- smiling for no reason ... learning all his wonderfully stupid quarks - and thinking they're cute ... laughing at his not-funny-at-all jokes ... enjoying his company all day, every day ... waiting on his phone calls ... finding out what makes him ... him -- yea, you know, the good stuff. I miss that stuff. I miss it a lot. And here's my problem: I haven't been able to feel it with anyone since my ex. And quite frankly, I never thought it would be this hard finding someone else who could at least make it easy for me to feel all that good stuff. Aaaaand again, I thought wrong. That's really getting old, by the way.

Big Ten Pride
Mon, January 5, 2009 @ 4:18PM
It is a tough season to be a Big Ten football fan. We are just 1-5, with one game to go as the Ohio State Buckeyes take on the - We have a chip on our shoulder - Texas Longhorns. After being snubbed for the national championship game, the Longhorns have a chance to earn a share of the national championship with, maybe Utah (?) by laying a whoopin' on our Scarlet and Grey. It's not like anybody really expected much of the Big Ten in this year's bowl games. Iowa's 31-10 win over South Carolina is about the only thing the conference has to be proud of in this holiday's football extravaganza. Northwestern has nothing to be ashamed of, their game against Missouri was a good game, one of the few battles in a bowl season of blow outs (Florida State 42, Wisconsin 13). Maybe the fans from Happy Valley can look down their noses at the Buckeye fans after Penn State put together a good second half against USC and only lost 38-24 to the mighty Trojans.

Halftime in the Desert
Mon, January 5, 2009 @ 9:57PM
It appeared as if Texas was going to take the lead into the lockerroom at halftime, but once again the Buckeyes' defense made a play when it was most needed. Colt McCoy had been lights out in the first half, completing 20-of-26 passes for 198 yards, but his 27th attempt was one of the biggest plays of the football games thus far. OSU defensive back Anderson Russell stepped in front of Jordan Shipley and picked off the pass at the 1-yard line with inside of 5 seconds to go before the half. Earlier in the half, Ohio State was the beneficiary of a Texas penalty, which pushed back a drive and resulted in the lone Texas points a 27-yard field goal. Another drive ended when Thaddeus Gibson recorded a sack of McCoy, the defense's second of the game. It's been low scoring, but definitely entertaining thus far. In case you were watching talking heads at halftime analyse this game, TBDBITL just put on heck of a performance.
