It's Baaaaack!

July 13, 2012 - Kim Collette
It's Baaaaack! Big Brother season 14 is back! Last night was the premiere of season 14. And like Big Brother always reminds us, Expect the Unexpected! This year the old format that we have become accustomed to has been totally flipped! Season 14 started like any other, introducing the new "houseguests" to the viewers and to each other while they frantically look for which bed they will claim in the house. The normal introductions were done while the houseguests were sipping champagne to celebrate getting invited into the BB house. Then came the "twist." The return of 4 BB vets serving as coaches for the newbies. Each vet got to hand pick their "team" to coach in the house. Now, the new houseguests will be competing to be named BB champion and winner of $500,000. The coach who has their "team player" win the game also wins! Their prize, $100,000.

The new houseguests are the stereotypical boring picks that we are used to on BB with maybe one exception. Willie. He is none other than Russell Hantz of Survivor Fame, brother. If you know who Russell is, you know why he may be the exception to the rule. It will be interesting to see what happens when someone actually confirms this to be true. The coaches to me are also kind of blah picks except for Mike Boogie (yes, Mike Boogie of Boogie and Dr. Will fame for 2 seasons of BB). He might be one of the best players to ever "live" in the BB house. Janelle who I loved watching on BB was a great contestant because of how she could win at the competitions in the house. I don't think that can translate to helping her team win (unless down the road the coaches can compete). Britney is also back as a coach. Why I don't know? If you all remember correctly, she had no clue that she was getting blindsided in her season. And then Dan rounds out the coaches. Again....I don't know why. I don't even remember him being on BB. Oh well.....

So for the next 12 or so weeks, 98 microphones and 53 microphones will capture all of the BB drama. And for 3 hours each week I will be glued to the tv to watch it unfold!

Until next time friends!
