The New Major League?

March 8, 2013 - Kim Collette
Everyone remembers the movie Major League right? Funny movie...only it made some of Cleveland fans a little hurt. Yes the movie ends on a good note with the Indians beating the big bad Yankees, but the whole premise of the movie was about how bad the Indians were. In the movie the owner was going to move the team out of Cleveland because they were so bad. It was announced on Tuesday (I found the information on that the Browns beat out the Buffalo Bills to "star" in a new movie. Kevin Costner is apparently playing the GM of the Browns in a movie titled "Draft Day." From what I read, his role as the GM is to restore the team to greatness. (Something us Brownies wish would happen in real life). Other than that tidbit of information, I don't know much else about the project. What I do know is that I am changing my mind about our new owner Jimmy Haslam. Whether you like him or not, he has been getting the Browns noticed. They have been in the sports news now more than I can ever remember. They have been featured in a mini-series on The Travel Channel. They are selling the stadium naming rights. They are talking about upgrading the uniforms. Filming a movie in Cleveland about the Browns will only create more buzz around the team. I don't know about you, but I am excited about "Draft Day" and the future of the Browns.

Until next time friends.
