Factory of Sadness

January 23, 2014 - Kim Collette
The Factory of Sadness in Cleveland, Ohio continues to run at full production. This should come at no surprise to Browns fans. Let's take a quick look at what the factory has produced most recently. Woo Hoo we got a new owner who promised we would get back to being a winning franchise and not a laughing stock. Browns fans rejoice! This was going to be our year! Our new owner hires new front office folks who are "the best" around and will make sure we are a winning team. Browns fans rejoice again! Coach Chudzinski is hired and the front office folks boast about how great of a coach he will be. Browns fans rejoice yet again! The 2013-2014 season starts and low and behold the Browns are winning! They are atop the division! Browns fans can't help but to rejoice even more! And then The Factory of Sadness starts to produce once again. Uh oh! The Browns bench Brandon Weeden in favor of 3rd stringer Bobby Hoyer. Hoyer leads the team to a few victories....maybe the Factory was getting old and wearing down. No....wait....Hoyer blows out his knee and the Browns spiral into a 4-12 record which in turn gets Chudzinski fired. There are no rejoicing Browns fans now. We have become the laughing stock of the league yet again. No one wants to coach in The Factory. Numerous coaches withdrew themselves for consideration. Why? Would an up and coming coach want to risk getting his big shot with a team that will fire you after one season? I'm hearing that the Browns will be offering Mike Pettine the position sometime today. Here's hoping the Pettine can finally shut down The Factory of Sadness. My guess......we will still be the same mediocre Browns until the three stooges realize that consistency breeds success.

On a side note, since I will probably never see my team in a Super Bowl, each year I am forced to root for another team. This year, I am going to be pulling for Peyton Manning and the Broncos.
