Going green-ish
IT SEEMS everyone is going green these days. Television shows, websites and print media are all devoting themselves to helping the public save the Earth. We are informed about the effects of global warming each time an extreme weather change occurs. And, while we’re keeping an eye on the polar ice caps, we worry about being able to fill up our gas tanks and our grocery carts. It all takes a toll on our wallets and our nerves. Now, I’m not Earth-mother-hippie type, but I think I do what most people do - little things - to help save the environment. I try to combine my trips in the car. I reuse plastic bags as much as possible. I am constantly turning off lights and keep the heat turned off in rooms that aren’t being used. We recycle aluminum cans as part of my son’s 4-H project.

OH THE trials of being the youngest!
My son Neal, who will soon be 9 years old, has been suffering a bit lately as he learns being the youngest isn’t always the greatest place to be.
