BMV Needed
ENOUGH IS enough already. Eastern Ohioans have had to make too many sacrifices at the expense of bureaucracy. While a saggy economy dictates cutbacks, the Ohio Valley has had to endure more than its fair share of cuts. Now another local community may be facing a painful loss, all in the name of streamlining by the State of Ohio. We take offense to the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles' latest proposal. We think it is quite offensive indeed. The state BMV is planning on doing away with several of its offices throughout Ohio. That is not a positive by any means. Making matters worse, however, is Barnesville is on the targeted list for closing. While it may not be one of the major employers in the Pumpkin community, it does play an integral part in the working of community life. Barnesville has its share of aging residents. Closing the BMV would create a hardship for the townspeople, especially its senior citizens.
