Shamy Bash brings the music home

OHIO'S PREMIER grassroots music festival gets underway this weekend just a short trip down Interstate 70 at the Frontier Ranch Music Center in Pataskala. Now in its 10th year, Shamy Bash began as a private party back in mid-1990s and has since grown into a public event. This yearás Shamy Bash will be the third music festival-campout to take place at the legendary Frontier Ranch. Featured acts this year include the return of One Under, which takes the headlining slot on Friday night. Saturdayás stellar lineup features The Goods, Papadosio, The Macpodz, The Maji, Boogie Matrix Mechanism, The Spikedrivers and U-Melt. For those who arrive tonight for the early-bird festivities, music will be provided by The Werks beginning at 7:30 p.m., followed by The Polka Floyd Show. Fridayás entertainment kicks off with the Ohio Valleyás own Seven at 3 p.m., followed by The Wild Breed Boys, Bell Acoustic Music for the Mandolin, Burning River Band and The Rumpke Mountain Boys.

Exhibit opening at Toy & Train Museum

The Kruger Street Toy & Train Museum in Wheeling will be hosting the temporary exhibit “The Revival of Marklin”.

The exhibit, which runs from July 19 through Oct. 26, features the Marklin trains of the late Walter P. Griffith, Sr.
