Shadyside enhancing curriculum

Upgrading the curriculum and implementing wellness projects are all on the agenda for the Shadyside Local School District.
According to Superintendent Terry Brinker, there is a lot going in the district.
Among those are updating the district’s curriculum. Every year, Shadyside School District looks at one area to improve. Replacing textbooks and teachers’ editions in the language arts is on this year’s schedule.
“Teachers and administrators are reviewing samples and options in terms of which is best suited to this district and the goals of this district,” Brinker said. “I am pleased with the way the district operates. They have a plan to review various curriculums each year as long as the budget permits. A few years ago, we did a major overhaul of the math curriculum .
