Shadyside steamrolls Bridgeport
The Shadyside Tigers took care of their business and all but wrapped up a spot in the Ohio Division VI playoffs Friday night in Fleming Field.
However, despite the 48-0 pasting the Tigers handed Bridgeport, Ty Fleming was less than pleased.
“At this time of the year we have to play with a little more intensity than we showed tonight early in the game.” Fleming said. “The kids weren’t ready to play right off the get-go and I thought our first half was ragged and our kids will hear about in the film session.”
The Tigers led just 7-0 after one quarter, but hung a 27-spot on the Bulldogs in the second quarter and cruised from there.
The win is the Tigers fifth in a row since dropping a verdict to Wheeling Central in Week 4. They will close out the regular portion of their schedule Friday against winless St. John Central and then get ready to host yet another opening-round Region 23 affair the following week.
