I grew up in this town and remember when it was a place where everyone had a job and actually took some pride in the appearance of their homes and property. I say put up the RV parks everywhere to hide the mess this town really is!
These people want to make money in our area, but don't want to contribute to the economy by paying rent or buying a house. I think all RV parks should be illegal unless yor at a state park or on vacation.(short term) Anyone with an RV parked and lived in for mare than three months should pay property tax!!
So there you have it. THe people of this crappy valley in a nutshell. They all vote democrat because the democrats supposedly care about people, but then its obvious that they are nothing but a bunch of rent gouging slum lords who in fact, do not care about people. An RV park should not be allowed in that industrial area.Period. IT should be put up for a vote by the citizens.
They don't want to buy homes. some might but most move from job to job. many own their own RV and are well of aware of inflated rent by gouging slum lords.
There are dozens and dozens of homes for sale in Martins Ferry City limits. Why not find a way to make it affordable for the oil and gas workers to buy those properties. The city would expand its tax base, the schools would receive the funding for the extra students, the workers would become a part of the community and the community would benefit from homes being used and improved. Putting residents in the midst of an INDUSTRIAL area? I don't know, it just seems a little creepy!

I fail to understand what some ones political party affiliation has to do with this issue.
