Sad, I spent a summer there many years ago and could not believe the activity and production coming from WP Mingo Junction.

Commander, It was an awesome sight! I've wondered if a hydro plant at Pike Island would have enough capacity to economically operate the arc furnace at Mingo? If feasible, it could give the plant a competitive advantage.

The basic oxygen furnace in Mingo rained graphite and was hotter than hot. It had two furnaces going at one time and 300 tons of steel pouring out about every 45 minutes. It was awesome. Now just rusting memories of what used to be.
