Bellaire Levy

May 13, 2014

Dear Editor: I was wondering that if a levy gets turned down 8 times. Does it have to pass 9 times to be enacted??? I think the taxpayers have spoken....

Instead of "celebrating" another unsuccessful Bellaire levy attempt, be responsible by doing something about the root cause - the unconstitutional state funding scenario.

Mr. Foster...I'll bet any amount of money that if Bellaires School Superintendant was to tell the village of Bellaire that because of the levy not passing we can no longer afford to support sporting events, therefore there will be no sporting events at Belliare city and see how many people come out and vote for a levy. And that goes for every school in the valley. You want a levy to pass? Tell the people that if the levy don't pass there'll be no sporting activities at the school. Every levy that goes on the ballot will pass. That's the mentality of the valley, High school football and the local watering holes, and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
