Mt. Pleasant Township reorganizes

THE MT. PLEASANT Township Trustees recently held their 2009 re-organizational meeting and elected Charles Strizak to serve as Chairman of the Board for 2009. Charles Kokiko will serve as vice-chairman. Larry Zelek will be the Township representative on the Highland Cemetery Board with Strizak being the alternate.

Charles Kokiko was appointed to represent the Township on the Jefferson County Regional Planning Commission with Zelek being the alternate. Strizak was appointed as representative on the Jefferson County Health Board.

Rick Brown will continue as Township Road Worker. Arthur Agostinelli will again serve as Township Fire Marshall.

Fire contracts were approved and will continue with Adena, Dillonvale, Harrisville and Mt. Pleasant Fire Departments. An annual donation will be given to the Adena, Harrisville and Mt. Pleasant emergency squads while Dillonvale E.M.S. will receive the proceeds from a tax levy.

An annual donation will be made to the Highland Cemetery as well as to Dillonvale American Legion.

Travel expense mileage was approved and will remain at 45 cents per mile.

Temporary appropriations were approved to cover expenses for the first three months of 2009.

Regular meetings will continue to be held the fourth Monday of the month at 7 p.m. at the Township Garage, 4830 State Route 150, Dillonvale. In the event of a change in the meeting date, a notice will be published in the newspaper.
