Two Belmont Technical College students, Cory Campanizzi and Ashley Kralovic, have been recognized as outstanding two-year college students, landing spots on the 2009 All-Ohio Academic Team.

Both were nominated by BTC President Dr. Joseph E. Bukowski. Campanizzi has been named to the First Team and also has been selected as a 2009 Coca-Cola Bronze Scholar. He is scheduled to graduate in June with an associate degree in Mental Health. He has a 3.7 GPA and has consistently been on the Dean's List. He lives in St. Clairsville.

Selection as a Coca-Cola Scholar was based on scores earned in the All-USA Academic Team competition. The program is sponsored by the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation and is administered by Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. As a Bronze Scholar, Cory will receive a certificate, bronze medallion and a check for $1000.

Ahsley Kralovic is a student in Business/Accounting and also scheduled to graduate this June. She is a member of PTK- Beta Theta Mu chapter and selected to the Second team All-Ohio. Ashley resides in Shadyside. She has also consistently been on the Dean's List. Her winter quarter GPA was 4.0 and cumulative GPA is 3.9.

To be eligible for the All-Ohio Academic Team, students must be nominated by their college president. Nominees must be eligible to graduate during the current academic year and have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.25. The rankings for the All-Ohio Academic Team are determined by the scores nominees received in the All-USA Academic Team judging. Winners are selected on the basis of academic performance, demonstration of leadership, and community service involvement.

The program is co-sponsored by Phi Theta Kappa, the International honors society for two-year colleges, and its Ohio Region. Funding has been made possible through the support of Honda of America Mfg. Inc., KnowledgeWorks Foundation, and the Robert and Lynne Haehnlen Sprague Scholarship Fund in Honor of Joshua and Sean Haehnlen Sprague.
