Students place in spelling bee

Recently, the Switzerland of Ohio Schools held the District Spelling Bee. There were students competing representing all six elementary schools. Students competed and won spots form their school bees in order to compete at the district bee.

Alex Fankhauser from Powhatan Elementary was the over winner of the District Spelling Bee. Chelsea Pandzik of Powhatan Elementary was the runner up and received an award for Outstanding Spelling from the 5th & 6th Grades. Ethan Brown of Woodsfield Elementary received the award for Outstanding Spelling from 7th & 8th Grades.

The top eight students, plus two alternates, from the District Spelling Bee will go on to compete in March at the Regional Spelling Bee in Marietta.
