A PHYSICIAN, who has served area residents since 1966, has relocated his office from Tiltonsville to the Medical Office Building at Eastern Ohio Regional Hospital at Martins Ferry.
Dr. Patrick K. Arakawa’s office is in Suite 18 in the medical building. Also in that suite is Dr. Mario Mejia.
Arakawa first opened an office in the DiNapoli Building, 126 Third St., Tiltonsville, and that was in 1966. He relocated his office in 1974 to the Spinetti Building, 132 Third St., also in Tiltonsville.
Some of the physician’s patients have called him as “the Don Ho of Tiltonsville,” referring to the late Hawaiian and traditional pop musician, singer and entertainer.
“I can’t sing a note, but was born in Maui, Hawaii,” said Arakawa.
His popularity was shown in June when he celebrated his 80th birthday anniversary, and more than 250 persons attended, some from other locations such as Columbus.
The doctor’s office staff includes Jane Fetty, who has worked for him for 10 years, and Pam Mossor, who has been employed in the office for four years. His wife, Yolanda, previously helped in the office for eight years.
Many of his patients regret his leaving Tiltonsville but indicated they’ll follow to his new location.
As one longtime patient noted, “To sum it up, we’ll see you in your new office, Dr. Pat. After 25 years, we’re not about to leave you now. We have your phone number: 633-4305.”
