Friends of the Scio Skate Park take their message directly to area skateboarders as part of an initiative to construct a skate park in Scio. Oct. 21 saw Scio Village Council Member Jeff Snyder, DARE Officer Eric Wilson, and Eian and Alec Bircher, high school graduates, skate park committee members, and skateboarders from the Scio area presenting the idea at Harrison Central High School. They asked for students’ input and said this was an opportunity to bring a worthwhile sport to the area. They want students to take a leadership role in making the project a reality. The group has a fund open at any PNC Bank branch. A Facebook page is up and the focus of interest. E-mail for more information.
