Show choir is a unique version of high school choir in which a group of students create a twenty minute show with a combination of song and dance.

Each show performance is accompanied by a live orchestra band consisting of fellow students. The show choir groups create a unique show competing for awards such as best show concept, best overall performer for each group, best instrumentalist, and best choreography, among other awards.

Each school division will also have a "Champion" and will also have a chance to compete in the evening competition based on the judging from the day's performances.

Four show choirs will be chosen to compete in the evening competition, each hoping to win the "Grand Champion" trophy from this "Showcase of Sound."

The St C. Singers will perform their new show "Good Gone Bad" at the showcase and there will be a performance by the elementary students that participated in the Elementary Show Choir Camp "Destination Rock & Roll" last August. Both the Singers and Little Singers will perform after 3p.m. prior to the afternoon awards.

The St. C. Singers are an auditioned show choir made up of 40 singers amd dancers, six stage crew members, and are led by the 5 member band, "Band of Demons." The St. C. Singers are from St. Clairsville High School and are the only competing show choir in the Ohio Valley.

This season they were "Grand Champions" in division B at Portsmouth, 1st runner up in division C at Piqua, and won best tech crew at Piqua. Their 2010 awards include best combo, best soloist, class champions, and the Singers also earned the 2010 Cruise Festival Overall Grand Championship Award for Show Choirs.

The Singers represent many aspects of student life at St. Clairsville high school including national honor society, student council, football, volleyball, softball, golf, baseball, cheering, soccer, and community service. The Singers will perform at show choir competitions hosted by Portsmith High School, Piqua High School, Poca High School, and the ARTS. The St. C. Singers are directed by Mr. Chad Smith and are choreographed by Mr. Antwon Chavis.

The St. C. Vocal Music Boosters would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the local businesses and patrons, friends, relatives, and parents that have contributed to and supported this organization throughout the year.
