ST. CLAIRSVILLE New Horizons Animal Hospital celebrated five years of caring for critters May 23.
Since first opening their doors with only five employees, the business has expanded to employ a staff of 42, including six doctors with a seventh to join the staff soon.
The animal hospital also serves as a boarding facility and offers blood work, dental, ultrasound, orthopedics and treatment and care of small animals from birth through old age.
They offer DNA testing to determine the breed of a dog or the contributing breeds of a mutt. They estimate treating 80-100 animals from the tri-state area in a given day. It is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and a doctor is on call at all times, including holidays.
New Horizons is the creation of Dr. Jim Moore and Dr. Philip Puskarich.
