Jim and Phyllis Ross celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on July 3. They were married on July 3, 1954 in Toronto, Ohio.
They are the parents of eight children: Cheryl King of Cleburne, TX; Becky Yocum of Steubenville; Patty Greenstreet of Stafford, VA; Ruth Ross of Manassas, VA; Jim Ross of Linden, VA; and Donna Birge of Warrenton, VA. They are also the parents of Cindy and John, both deceased.
They have five grandchildren: John Yocum of Columbus; Doug Yocum, who is serving in the U.S. Navy in Guam; Thomas Birge of Texas; James Birge of Warrenton, VA; and Ashley Ross of Linden, VA. They have two great grandchildren: Caden Yocum of Columbus and Grace Ross of Linden, VA.

The couple celebrated their anniversary with a trip to Glacier National Park in Montana. The trip was an anniversary gift from their children Jim and Ruth, who escorted them.
