Taste Buds: Breakfast at Hoss’s

Post-Jambo Bud Crew fills up at weekend-only buffet

Sunday breakfast was definitely in order for Bud Em and friends after a rip-roarin' weekend at Jamboree In The Hills.

Their favorite location to "break the fast" was a little out of their budget after 3 days of the Super Bowl of Country Music. It will do that to ya. Luckily, one member of the party had a great idea: why not try the weekend breakfast buffet at Hoss's?

All agreed that this was indeed a swell idea so they packed into the car and headed to Hoss's Steak and Sea at the Elm Grove Crossing Mall in Wheeling.

Many area residents frequently visit the family friendly restaurant to enjoy their delicious steaks, seafood and endless salad bar, but some may not know that on Saturdays and Sundays only, they offer a wide spread of your favorite breakfast foods from 7-10:30 a.m. And at the low price of $6.49, who could afford not to?!

The buffet offers all of the usual breakfast fare to hungry diners. Mountains of scrambled eggs, plenty of pancakes and French toast made from their loaves of cinnamon bread. Your favorite breakfast meats are there too: spicy sausage, crispy bacon and yummy slices of ham are waiting to be enjoyed. Also on the buffet you'll find Bud Em's fave - biscuits and gravy - plenty of tasty home fries warm and cinnamon rolls.

If you happen to be more of a cereal and toast person, you won't be let down, as there are plenty of varieties of cold cereals, oatmeal with various items to add, toast, bagels, donuts, English muffins and the like.

Cut up fresh fruit is also available for a refreshing side dish. Naturally, the folks at Hoss' also have every variety of breakfast condiments available including jam, jelly, butter, syrup etc.

Bud Em's crew happened to be particularly ravenous, so between them all, just about every single item was tasted. The group left full and satisfied. In fact, the only complaints Bud Em heard had nothing to do with the food and everything to do with feeling the effects of the past three days.

Even though JITH only comes once per year, you can catch the breakfast buffet at Hoss's every weekend.
