WHEELING Centre Market is the home of the Ohio Valley's newest hangout, but it's not your traditional restaurant and bar.

Recently, Greg and Diane Myers, owners of Casa di Vino, opened Market Vines Wine Bar and Cafe, serving up fine food and a large selection of wine in a comfortable and refreshing atmosphere.

"We opened Casa di Vino and through our wine tasting, we met a lot of people who wanted a wine bar to just sit down with their friends," said Diane "It's a family restaurant, not just a bar."

A NEW business is now open in Centre Market in Wheeling. Recently, the owners of Casa di Vino, Diane and Greg Myers, opened Market Vines Wine Bar and Cafe at 2251 Market St., as a place for people to come out and enjoy a glass of wine, a meal and time with friends. Along with wraps, burgers and wine, the menu also include the signature “All on the Vines,” a Pittsburgh-style sandwich.

It's also a great spot for friends to meet, have a meal, talk or take advantage of the video gaming room.

In the kitchen is the experienced cook Tyler Stidd, who brings his skills to Centre Market, crafting the fare.

They also have are a large variety of wraps, an enormous 8-ounce Black Angus burger, overstuffed deli sandwiches and wings.

Among the menu items, Market Vines also features the "All on the Vines," a Pittsburgh-style sandwich without having to make the drive.

"You won't be going home hungry, that's for sure," Greg said.

During evening hours, they will serve tapas and hor d'oeuvres that can be paired with their large selection of wines and beers.

"We hope attract some nightlife to Centre Market with our wine and specials through the week," Greg said. "We will have specials every night of the week, pairing it with a wine or beer. It's just a nice place to come down and have a glass of wine and enjoy the company of our friends."

Along with a large selection of wines, the wine bar also offers imported and crafted, and specialty domestic beers.

An official grand opening is slated for this Friday, Aug. 5 which will include a visit from Jack FM. To add to the festivities, Centre Market is sponsoring the band New American Groove, which will perform outside for the event.

"I wanted to open for the young adults of Wheeling," Diane said. "They all say there is nothing to do, and I'm trying to give them something new."

"We are just trying to make a nice place for someone to come and spend some time with their friends instead of going to the average bar," Greg said. "Just stop in and check us out, and check out our wine list.

Delivery is available in Wheeling. For more information, call Market Vine at 304-230-1140.
