March 16, 2012

Celebrate safely is the theme for the night as the Ohio Valley Jaycees has organized its first ever St. Patrick's Day Pub Crawl fund-raiser that will take place this Saturday at various locations throughout Wheeling.

Sponsored by Gold, Khourey and Turak and Generations Restaurant and Pub, crawlers will ride a luxury motor coach to several of the areas more popular bars and restaurants. A special group rate on hotel rooms is also available at Super 8.

"We wanted to hold an event that allowed people to fully enjoy the spirit of St. Patrick's Day but in a responsible and safe way," said Jaycees chapter president Tammy Keller. "Having a designated driver and hotel rooms keeps everyone safe and makes for a more relaxing and stress-free evening."

Free admission and select complimentary beverages are offered at each destination on the crawl with live bands at the last three stops. Check in begins at 1:30 p.m. at Napple's Bullpen (formerly Knotty Pines) with the bus departing at 3 p.m. to Wild Wild West Sports Bar and continuing to Wes' Pub, Generations, River City Ale Works and The Sports Bar at Undo's in the Grove.

Tickets are $35 and can be purchased by calling the Ohio Valley Jaycees at 304-281-8319. Proceeds from the event will help support the group which is well known locally for its charitable giving and community service.
