DAYTON, Ohio - After years of grassroots touring, Ohio-based jam band The Werks has become a headlining act with a loyal fan base as well as a must-see addition to major music festivals on a national level.

This year, the powerhouse band that calls Dayton its home will be playing host to its third annual musical extravaganza - The Werk Out Festival.

After two successful years in Western Ohio, the three-day music festival and camp out is being relocated to the legendary Legend Valley Music Center, just a short jaunt down Interstate 70 West, this fall on Sept. 20-23.

The Werks

The initial lineup of artists recently announced for the Third Annual Werk Out Festival includes three nights of sizzling sets by The Werks, along with performances by very special guests - globally-renowned roots rock veterans - Rusted Root; electronic trance dance duo with live drums, comprised of percussionists from the String Cheese Incident - EOTO; fellow Ohio-based jam band giants - ekoostik hookah; and the improvisational musical madness led my Matt Butler and featuring top players from various bands on the festival's bill - The Everyone Orchestra.

Additional acts on the bill will include Zoogma, Kung Fu, Dr. Frameus (featuring Allen of the Disco Biscuits), The Heavy Pets, Dirtfoot, The Twin Cats, Strange Arrangements, The Macpodz, Roster McCabe, Elemental Groove Theory, Funktion, Glostik Willy, Attak & Carma, Rahbee, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Skeetones, Jesters of Kindness, Bang~Bang, pH Factor and more.

Additional artists will be announced in the coming months.

Riding the wave of their continued rise as truly a force to be reckoned with on the scene, The Werks' infectious music fuses dance beats with screaming classic rock organ, driving bass and psychedelic guitar and synthesizers. This unique sound has won over crowds and kept them dancing in clubs and festivals across the country, and the growing, die-hard fan base insists on making it to as many shows as possible to get in the crowd and "Werk it!"

Building on their notable success, the band has recently completed a new CD simply titled "The Werks," which is available as a pay-what-you-want digital download online at thewerks.bandcamp.com.

Music, camping and parking are included with passes for two-day weekend admission at The Werk Out Music Festival.

There will be an additional fee for early arrivals on Thursday night. Advance tickets are being offered at a significant discount from the gate prices the weekend of the event. Campsite and VIP upgrades are also available. Gates will open at noon on Thursday for early bird camping and will remain open through Sunday evening. Children under 12 will be admitted for free.

The Werk Out Festival is produced by AlchemyHouse Presents, Funky Bean Productions and The Werks Music LLC.
