SHOWN IN this photo is the cockpit of The Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress. Imagine being a pilot or co-pilot during World War II and being on constant vigil for enemy planes and flying through flak (pieces of bursting anti-aircraft shell in mid-air) plus having to watch your instrument panel, gadgets and levers while flying bomb runs into Germany and other strategic areas.
