JEANNIE CURRY, Riesbeck’s Food Markets, Inc. Bridgeport store director, presents a $5,000 check to George Smoulder, executive director of the United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley. The check represents proceeds from the Johnsonville Big Taste Grill event held recently at the Bridgeport Riesbeck’s location. For a $5 donation, patrons received a freshly grilled Johnsonville bratwurst sandwich, a drink and a bag of Utz potato chips. Nickles Bakery and Pepsi also took part in the fund raising event. “We’re very grateful for the response from the public to this special event, and we’re especially grateful to Riesbeck’s, Johnsonville Sausage, Nickles, Utz and Pepsi for their generous donations that made this possible,” Smoulder said. Donations can be made to the United Way at 51-11th St., Wheeling, WV 26003. For information about conducting a workplace campaign, please call 304-232-4625.
