SHADYSIDE This past December Suzanne Polinski Photography set up a studio in Shadyside, offering to capture her clients' most treasured moments in time.
"Photographs are important. They are some of our most prized possessions," she said. "They are more than just pictures. They are family heirlooms. I'm a romantic at heart, so emotion is one of the most important aspects of my work, especially when it comes to my wedding photography. Years from now, when a couple's children or grandchildren look at my wedding photos, I don't want them to just see what the couple looked like when they were young. I want them to feel their love and passion for each other."
Polinski added that she tries to capture the spirit of an occasion.
SUZANNE POLINSKI offers skills and experience in photography at her studio, which recently opened for business in Shadyside.
"I take pride in creating images that are artistic, unique, yet they have a timeless elegance," she said. "Knowing when to push the button and catch the right moment is something I pride myself on."
Services offered include wedding photography, family portraits, maternity sessions, boudoir sessions, senior portraits, newborn and children sessions, and pet projects.
Polinski is a photographer, painter, and mixed media artist who has been exhibiting her art on a professional level since 2008. Her work has been accepted in many juried exhibitions, including the West Virginia Arts and Crafts Guild's Juried Exhibition, as well as Stifel Fine Arts Center's prestigious CrossCurrents Exhibition, in which her work has been accepted for five years.
Her work has also been accepted and awarded in numerous other exhibitions throughout the Ohio Valley. She was an exhibiting artist associate at ArtWorks Around Town from 2008-2011, where she served on the board of directors, as well as manager of the gallery's music coffee house.
She is also one of the founding members of the Ohio Valley Shutterbugs photography club, where she served as club president in 2010.
"Aside from my ventures in the visual arts, I'm also a musician. I sing and play guitar with a local classic country and bluegrass band. I'm also a scooter enthusiast and I enjoy traveling," she said, adding that she credits a large part of her success to her husband of nearly nine years, Stephen. They reside just outside Shadyside with a large family of dachshunds.
Future plans for the studio include expansions into other areas of visual arts.
"I'd like to offer beginning level painting classes for both children and adults, and maybe even host an artist meet up group," she said.
The business is open by appointment.
The studio is located at 95 West 40th St. and can be reached at (740) 312-9441. Visit the Web site at www.suzannepolinski.com or on Facebook at Suzanne Polinski Photography.
