Obama Backer

Dear Editor:

Answer to Dare: First, it always puzzles me when I see and hear elderly people say "Keep Government out of their Healthcare."

Who do they think they get Medicare and Medicade from? On the dare from a letter writer on economic recovery: As many as 3.5 million jobs have been created by cutting taxes and investing in clean energy, roads, and bridges and by keeping teachers in classrooms and protecting unemployment.

Our President saved the Auto Industry from collapse and prevented the loss of more than 1.4 million jobs. The private sector has created nearly 3 million jobs during 21 straight months of growth. It's not enough and that is why the President is fighting for the American Jobs Act which would put even more people to work now and put more money in peoples' pockets, but Republicans in the House have voted down everything and want our President to fail. They do not seem to have the people's best interests at heart. President Obama has kept his word by bringing the war in Iraq to a responsible end and brought our troops home and has set his priorities toward dismantling and defeating Al-Qaeda and by bringing Osama Bin Laden to justice, the President showed our ability to face one of our greatest threats to our nation. He has also enacted new tax credits to encourage businesses to hire unemployed and disabled Veterans. This President has demonstrated his belief in women"s issues by signing the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act that says that women must get paid the same as men for the same job.

On the Affordable Care Act: over 2.6 million seniors have saved, on the the average $550.00 each on prescription drugs and by 2020 the Medicare (Donut Hole) will be completely gone. Insurance companies have to justify rate hikes and provide rebates if they don't spend at least 80% of consumer's premiums on care instead of marketing and profits. Thirty-two million more Americans will be able to afford insurance for the first time and 95% of those under the age of 65 will have insurance. It seems that Republicans don't worry about anyone but themselves and don't seem to care about those less fortunate.

The question is simple: We must move forward and build on this administration's accomplishments. We cannot go BACK!!

Is it a tax or mandate? Have you looked at your cable bill? There are more than 6 added taxes and fees which we have no say about! Get over it! Taxes or mandates. It is what it is.
