POTTS, Jack D., 84, of Powhatan Point, OH, died Tuesday July 17, 2012.
He was born February 28, 1928 in Duffy, OH, a son of the late Dewey and Lily (Anderson) Potts.
He was Protestant by faith, and was a member of the American Legion Post 0760 and VFW Post 5565. Jack retired from Ormet where he worked as a crane operator, and was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel (Peacemaker) Potts in 2003; step-daughter, Karen Murphy; and three sisters, Arlene Henthorn, Lily Sheldon, and Freda Potts.
He is survived by his four children, Jack R. (Kathy) Jr. Potts, Kirk Potts, and Matthew (Jackie) Potts, all of Powhatan Point, OH, and Debbie (Dale) Palmer of Clarington, OH; a sister, Eva Wade of Hannibal, OH; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Friday, July 20, 2012 at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Home and Crematory, 186 Main St., Powhatan Point, Ohio from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., where services will be held Saturday, July 21 at 11 a.m. with Lorna Knight officiating.
Interment in Powhatan Cemetery and services with the Powhatan Veteran Honor Guard.
