Prep Volleyball Roundup: UL sweeps Ferry and St. C.

Union Local swept a triangular from homestanding Martins Ferry and St. Clairsville Monday evening. The Lady Red Devils managed a split.

The Lady Jets knocked off the Lady Riders by scores of 25-21 and 25-20.

Union Local was led by Carly Schafer who had eight points, four digs, 10 assists and six kills. Megan Nagy had nine digs, three kills and two blocks. Gabby Smolenak had six digs and five points. Kaylie Cole had seven points, two aces, six digs and an assist. Sarah Sheppard had six blocks, four digs and four kills.

Martins Ferry was led by Cassie Hanson's five points, six kills and eight digs. Shaina Oberdick had four points and three kills. Morgan Carpenter had four kills, three points, two aces, two assists and two digs. Dakota West had 11 digs.

Against St. Clairsville, Union Local prevailed, 19-25, 25-22 and 25-10.

The Lady Jets received a strong performance from Cole with 16 points, two aces, eight digs, two assists and three kills. Shayla Otto had 10 points, four digs, five kills. Nagy donated nine kills, 12 digs and nine points. Schafer had six points, three aces, 16 digs, 15 assists, four kills. Anna Jo Nardo added five assists and four digs.

St. C., meanwhile, was led by Allie Harrison's 12 points, six aces, five digs, eight assists and two kills. Brigee Mick had 11 points, 16 digs and two kills. Alexis St. Clair had seven digs and six kills.

The Lady Devils managed a split with a 25-20, 25-22 victory against Ferry.

St. Clairsville was led by Rebekah Sadlowski's eight points, five aces, three digs and a kill. Harrison had three aces, seven assists and two kills. Mick had four digs and four kills. St. Clair donated seven digs, three kills and four points.

Ferry was paced by Hanson's eight assists and five points. Shaye DeLeonardis had four points, four assists, four kills and four digs.

Barnesville gets past Caldwell

Barnesville improved to 14-2 on the season by virtue of a sweep of Caldwell. The Lady Shamrocks won with scores of 25-13, 25-9 and 25-14.

Barnesville was led on the stat sheet by Hunter Weis, who had 14 points, two aces, and nine digs. Kelsey Douglas had four points, six kils, nine blocks and three digs. Paige Gibbons, meanwhile, had eight points, three aces, three kills, 12 assists and 12 digs. Marissa Burga had six kills and seven digs. Raquel Bahmer had four kills, five digs and two blocks. Miranda Plumly had six digs and four kills.

Buckeye Local gets past Brooke

Buckeye Local kept its OVAC Tournament hopes alive with a four-game victory against Brooke. The Lady Panthers prevailed, 25-19, 21-25, 25-12 and 25-23.

Lex Fedorko led the Lady Panthers with 16 points, six aces, two digs. Moe Fedorko had six kills. Morgan Staten had eight kills and 10 digs to go along with five points. Becca Rector had six points, three kills and eight assists. Kayla Fillipovich had nine points, two aces and four kills.

Bellaire shoots down Rockets

Bellaire earned a four-game victory after rallying from a game down to topple Conotton Valley on Guernsey Street Monday evening.

The Lady Big Reds prevailed, 26-28, 25-19, 25-16 and 25-11.

The Lady Reds were paced on the stat sheet by Taylar Canter, who had 19 points and 16 digs. Tori Duffy had 28 points, two aces and 18 assists. Cari Crozier had 12 kills. Mackenzie Conroy added 16 points, seven kills and five digs. Elisha Gillespie added 14 points and two aces.

Hunder Eden added seven digs.

Beallsville sweeps Paden City

Beallsville improved to 8-6 on the seasonw ith a three-game victory against Paden City Monday evening.

The Lady Blue Devils prevailed by scores of 25-18, 25-19 and 25-23.

Beallsville was led by Madison Stephen, who had 12 points, three kills, three assists, three digs and two aces. Anna Jones had 16 assists, eight points, three aces, three blocks and two digs. Morgan Marley added eight points, five kills, two digs and two aces.

Meadowbrook upends Trail

Buckeye Trail was swept by Meadowbrook Monday night with scores of 25-15, 25-18 and 25-21.

The Lady Warriors were led by Lynsey Beros, who had three aces, four points, 12 digs and 25 assists. Josie Hensley had 12 kills, 10 digs and four blocks. Kelsey Beros added 13 digs, 11 kills and eight blocks.
