Mayor’s wife is charged

October 2, 2012
Times Leader

PAULA RIETHMILLER, wife of Martins Ferry Mayor Paul Riethmiller, was officially charge with two misdemeanor counts of theft Monday in Northern Division Court in front of Judge Frank Fregiato.

This summer, the Martins Ferry Police Department investigated an incident where a concession stand ran by the Martins Ferry Civics had money come up missing. Paula Riethmiller was allegedly the culprit, however charges were never filed.

Following the investigation, the Martins Ferry Police Department forwarded its findings to the Belmont County Prosecutor's office.

At the time, Dan Fry, the assistant prosecutor for the county, had asked the court to appoint a special prosecutor for the case as Fry serves as the city solicitor for Martins Ferry.
