ADENA - the Adena Volunteer Fire Company's most recent big purchase was a 2009 Ford F-450 Emergency Squad manufactured by LifeLine Emergency Vehicles. Adena Squad 2274 is an Emergency Squad equipped with the latest advanced life support equipment.
On Monday-Friday, AVFC is staffed by two paid EMS personnel from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
This paid EMS crew runs all of Adena's emergencies, and provides mutual aid to the surrounding villages.

Currently, there are grants that have been applied for new equipment, and AVFC is currently waiting on a response.
The AVFC is currently accepting new members as well, for more information on joining the dept., please stop into the station for an application.
The dept., always accepts donations, and appreciates everyone's continued support. Donations can be mailed to our P.O. Box 656.

Fundraisers
Each year the department holds two fundraisers to pay equipment and facility expenses. Our annual and most popular fundraiser is on July 4th each year, with a chicken BBQ, parade, mud volleyball, and a duck race. Our second is our annual reverse raffle. We cook steaks, and people attend at a chance of winning cash, or a trip!
