FREEMAN, Donald Harlan

FREEMAN, Donald Harlan, 85, of Wilson, OH, died Monday, October 15, 2012 at Woodsfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a long battle with Alzheimers's Disease.

He was born June 22, 1927 in Wheeling, WV, the son of the late Carl and Edna (Harlan) Freeman.

He was a graduate of Powhatan High School and a Veteran of the US Navy- Seaman 2nd Class.

He was a retired foreman at the Ormet Aluminum Corporation. He was a member of the Jerusalem United Methodist Church. Don was an avid golfer and past member of the Switzerland of Ohio Country Club.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife of 53 years, Bessie Ann (Kostecka) Freeman.

He is survived by his second wife of 11 years, Betty (Campbell-Norden) Freeman; daughters: Vicki (Ralph) Bright of Mansfield, OH, Joyce (Daniel) Weiss of Malaga, OH, Debbie (Fred) Tennant of Dilliner, PA and Janie (Sam) Abbott of Jerusalem, OH; sons: Joseph Norden of Pittsburg, PA, Jeffery (Kristin) Norden of Summerfield, NC and James Norden of Reynoldsburg, OH; grandchildren: Lisa Hayes, Jason Weiss, Lori Tennant, John Bright, Ryan Tomolonis, Scott Tomolonis, Trent Abbott, Clint Abbott, Tracy Tennant, Kim Tennant-Harris and Justin Norden; great-grand children: Gabbie, Pheobe, and Curtis Hayes, Lucas and Theresa Tennant, Rex Mitchell Bright, Matthew and Andrew Tomolonis, Mariah Weiss, Paxton and Payton Palmer, Trinity Abbott, Carter Abbott, Jaden, Jordon, Jeremiah and Jevonia Norden, and Amanda and Brian Harris. Don is also survived by brothers: James (Rose) Freeman and William (Linda) Freeman and a sister: Marjorie Stringer.

Don has donated his body to the Ohio State Department of Anatomy and Physiology.

Family and friends will be received for a memorial service on October 27, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Jerusalem United Methodist Church, 51745 Main St., Jerusalem, OH with Pastor Jean Cooper officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jerusalem United Methodist Church c/o Marva Sue Pack, PO Box 103, Jerusalem, OH 43747.
