BODNAR, Helen Jacob, 78, beloved mother, grand mother, sister, aunt and friend, of Rayland, OH, died Saturday, October 13, 2012, at her home.
She was born October 2, 1934 in Martins Ferry, OH, daughter of the late Michael and Mary Szabo Jacob.
Helen was the owner- operator of Bodnat's Florist; a member of St. Josephs Catholic Church, Tiltonsville; life time member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary and the American Hungarian Cultural Society.
Helen never knew a stranger and a special friend to many. Her family felt she was an angel here on earth. She will certainly be missed.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, whom she was a loving wife to, William J. Bodnar whom passed away February 2, 2010.
Surviving are a son, Joe (LuAnn) Bodnar, Yorkville; a daughter, Sharon Blackbird, Rayland, OH; a brother, Mike (Connie) Jacob; two sisters, Anna (Frank) Noble and Marsha Simon, all of Martins Ferry, OH; and five grandchildren, Sara, Joey, Cody, Kayla and Caleb.
Friends will be received to pay tribute to Helen and celebrate her life Friday, 2-8 p.m. at Borkoski Funeral Home, Tiltonsville, OH.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Tiltonsville, OH., with Msgr. Gene Mullett the celebrant.
Interment in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH.
Wake service on Friday at 2:15 p.m. at the funeral home.
Hungarian Cultural Society Service on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
