KLIER, Robert L., 87, of Barton, died Wednesday, October 10, 2012, at Wheeling Hospital.
He was born September 24, 1925, in Barton, a son of the late Louis and Louise (Horvath) Klier.
He was retired from Consol Coal Co. Franklin Mine New Athens, a lifetime member of the Barton United Methodist Church, and the N.R.A. He was a member of the UMWA, the Bethesda Farmer's and Sportsman's Club, and the Lewis Wetzel Rifle & Pistol Club. He loved the outdoors, enjoying hunting, fishing and shooting trap.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Martha (Carter) Klier; a son, Ronald (Marian) Klier of Pleasant Grove, a daughter, Marsha (Mike) McCormick of Bethesda; a sister, Elsie Bitzer of Wheeling; three grandchildren, Jennifer Klier and her fiance' Matt Fehr of Dublin, Joseph (Ashley) Klier of West Lafayette, and Marissa McCormick of Bethesda; a great-granddaughter, Madelyn Klier.
Friends are invited to a celebration of Robert's life on Sunday, October 21, 2012, from 2-8 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Road, Brookeside. Services will be conducted on Monday, October 22, 2012, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Phil Bliss officiating. Interment at Holly Memorial Gardens Pleasant Grove.
