Dear Editor,
This is something that has been bothering me for quite some time and I thought I would bring it to your attention.
Walter Cronkite was a news anchor on television for many years. When he retired, they held a party for him and he gave a speech that I will never forget. He said:
"The test of a true journalist is when they can report the news without bias."
What happened to those values??
I think we Americans, for the most part, are smart enough to make up our own minds without interference from the television and the press.
Furthermore, I don't want to hear who Barbara Streisand, and or any other movie star favors, to influence me in my selection.
Respectfully submitted,
Martha Weber
