Cameron and St. John Central is the only game in town Saturday as the high school football season rolls into Week 9.
The Dragons and Irish will kickoff at noon at the Irish Youth Sports Complex in south Bellaire.
St. John Central will be looking to win its third game in a row after stopping Sherman 14-6 last week. Meanwhile, the Dragons battled state-ranked Clay-Battelle before falling last week.
"I know they are well-coached," first-year Irish head coach Jason Merryman said of Cameron. "Their coaching staff has been there a long time."
Merryman said his team is ready for the Dragons.
"We haven't had any distractions like we did last week," he noted, referring to the forfeit loss St. John Central had to take from the Bridgeport game in Week 1. "That's in the past, but the kids and the coaches aren't counting that as a loss. We know that we won the game on the field."
St. John Central welcomed the return of senior quarterback D.J. Shoemaker last week. He was injured in the loss to Toronto and missed the Valley game.
Others playing key roles are Dario Paolina, Alex Francis, Devin Hennessey and John Alvey.
