TWO COUNTS of kidnapping have been filed against Christy Fehr, 27, of Cadiz, for the alleged abduction of two children from the parking lot at Walmart at the Ohio Valley Plaza on Monday, according to Belmont County Prosecuting Attorney Chris Berhalter.
The Amber Alert issued by the Belmont County Sheriff's Office was canceled when the children were found safe in the Youngstown area.
The two children were abducted from the parking lot at Walmart in the Ohio Valley Plaza on Monday around 8 p.m. They were found in the Youngstown area and were not harmed, according to a spokesperson at the Belmont County Sheriff's Office.
Sheriff Fred Thompson said the mother, a family friend and the two children are from Harrison County. They came to Walmart to do some shopping. The mother entered the store and the children stayed in the car with the family friend.
The family friend then took off. She was apprehended in Liberty Township in Trumbull County and is in jail.
A spokesperson at the Belmont County Jail said that Fehr has not been returned to Belmont County as of this morning.
