Steelworkers to vote on accord Thursday

YORKVILLE - Steelworkers from both mills in the Yorkville area: the newly named Ohio Cold Rolling Company, which sits in the heart of the riverfront village, and the nearby Ohio Coatings Company , located immediately south of the village, are reminded to gather today at the local union hall to pick up vouchers for a holiday ham being made available through Jacobs Meats in Martins Ferry.

Those unable to attend the meeting today will be able to pick up a voucher this Wednesday or Friday to redeem for a ham at Jacobs Meats in Martins Ferry.

USW members are reminded details of the tentative agreement reached last week between Esmark Steel Group and representatives of the United Steelworkers Local 1223 Yorkville will not be discussed today but will be shared during a meeting at the Yorkville Fire Department on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m.

Voting on the tentative agreement will be conducted Thursday at the union hall from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
