Hot-handed Harrison Central remained undefeated, pulling away in the second half to post a 72-44 decision over Union Local inside the John W. Stephenson Center in Cadiz Tuesday night.
The Huskies went on an early run that left the Jets stalled in the opening frame with a14-6 deficit. Union Local would put together an 8-2 rally which would narrow the gap to a single bucket 16-14 with 4;13 left in the second period.
The Huskies would counter with their own 16-6 run to take a 32-20 advantage into the break.

Harrison Central came out in the third period and it was soon apparent its shooting had not cooled down during the intermission. The Huskies outscored the Jets 21-9 in the third stanza and never looked back.
"We just haven't shot the ball well in our first two games," Harrison coach Justin Clifford said. "I think it was just a case of a little bit too much 'want to.'
"Tonight, I think we settled in after the first two or three went in for us," Clifford added. "We showed a little more confidence offensively but I think the game was won on the defensive end.
"The Mitchell brothers did a fantastic job guarding," Clifford praised Kalub and Rashean Mitchell, noting the Jets' second shot opportunities were few and far between as the visitors pulled down just 2 offensive caroms.
"We did not rebound well and that hurt us," Union Local head coach Vaughn Butler admitted. "Our turnovers hurt us early."
The Huskies' half-court trap contributed to the 20 turnovers for the Jets. Harrison senior Fletcher Watt garnered three of the Huskies 9 steals.
Nick Pelegreen paced the Huskies with 16 points including a perfect 4-4 outing at the foul line and 8 rebounds. Rashean Mitchell had a double-double with 14 pointsand 11 rebounds. Watt and teammate Nate Olmstead both netted a hat trick outside the arc with triple treys finishing with a total of 13 and 11 points, respectively.
The Huskies were 17 of 34 from two-point range and 10 of 27 three-point for a game effort 27-61 action shots. The hosts charted 9 turnovers and pulled down 30 rebounds.
The Jets were led by Jacob Bailey who scored 14 points and pulled down 5 caroms.
Union Local shot 50 percent from close range netting 15 of 30 two-point and 3 of 11 from outside the circle while collecting a game total of 20 rebounds.
The Huskies won the jayvee contest 52-38.
