CADIZ The Harrison Hills City School Board met Thursday to review year-end activities and plan for 2013.
Board members reported attending sessions of the Cadiz Village Council to discuss the possible purchase of property near the high school. Council has been cooperative, but more public hearings are expected to review zoning issues.
In matters of personnel, the board approved Terrance DiLoreto as a volunteer boys' basketball coach for 2012-13 school year.
Board members also confirmed the assignment of Tenley Teifer as the Title I Intervention Teacher at Harrison North effective the 2013-14 school year.
The board approved Teresa Dunlap and Anna Minagla to the supplemental positions of play director and play director assistant, musical.
Board members also approved the retirement of Calvin Mallarnee as bus driver effective Dec. 31, 2012.
The board confirmed the assignment of OVLA teachers including Richard McKinney, health and fitness; Judy May, math; Linnah Hodkinson, technology; Mary Jane Harrah, fine arts; Ashley Baur, Spanish; Roxane Starkey, Kindergarten.
Lori Milleson was approved to the Puskarich Public Library Board Jan. 1, 2013-Dec. 31, 2019. Board also approved a memorandum of understanding between the HHTA supplemental positions through OVLA.
Board Member Deborah Kenny was appointed to serve as representative on the Belmont Harrison Vocational School Board beginning Jan. 1, 2013. She will also serve as president pro-tempore over the organizational meeting until the board elects a president.
Board also accepted an open enrollment application from a New Philadelphia student. Currently, the district's online school boasts 55 students, 14 through open enrollment.
Board sent notes of appreciation to Virginia Bieber, retired teacher, and Brent and Angela Ripley, principal and teacher.
An organization meeting is set for Jan. 10, 7 p.m. with a budget hearing 6:45 p.m.
