ROMICK, Lloyd B.

ROMICK, Lloyd B., age 85, of New Matamoras, OH, died Monday, December 17, 2012 at Marietta, OH.

He was born May 31, 1927 in Sardis, OH, the son of the late Floyd James and Elizabeth "Lizzy" Nieman Romick.

Lloyd was a member of the Matamoras First Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran of WWII.

He was a retired cement mason; a member of the New Matamoras F.&A.M. 374; Scottish Rite Valley of Cambridge; York Rite, Marietta, OH; Shrine Aladdin Temple, Columbus, Ohio; American Legion Post 760 Hannibal, Ohio; Cement Masons Local 1 of Columbus, Ohio and Cement Masons Local 205, Marietta, where he was a business agent. Lloyd was manager of the New Matamoras Post 378 and Hannibal Post 760 Legion Baseball teams.

He coached local baseball teams for over 30 years. He loved all sports and was a lifelong Cleveland Indian and OSU Buckeye fan. He was an avid hunter.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Mount Romick, in 1996; an infant son, Mitchel Romick; two sisters, Berdetta Parker and Josephine Dahm; and two brothers, Harold Romick and Monroe Romick.

Survivors include a daughter, Gloria (Rusty) Rinard; three sons, Michael Romick, Mark (Debbie) Romick and Matthew (Mary) Romick, all of New Matamoras; two brothers, Lawrence (Delores) Romick of Sardis, OH, and Dwight Romick of Pickerington, OH; eight grand children, Travis Rinard and Nicole Rinard, Ryne Romick and Lindsey Rosendale, Brooke Romick and Jordin Romick, Missy Wayt, and Cheyenne Romick and Aurora Romick; six great-grandchildren, Kaytland Schwabon, Chasidy Hall, Wyatt Hall, Slayton Romick, Lily Rosendale and Elijah Wayt.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2-9 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home, 37234 Mound Street, Sardis, with Masonic services at 8:30 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Rick Smith officiating.

Interment in Mount Olive Cemetery, Sardis, where military graveside services will be conducted.
