AT LANSING, the unbeaten Lady Bulldogs made it 11-for-11 after rolling past Steubenville Central, 69-36.
Coach Rob Zitzelsberger's club methodically pulled away, mounting a 17-10 upperhand after one period before extending the spread to 38-23 at halftime. The winners took a 54-29 advantage to the final eight minutes.
Nicole Smolenak and Caitlyn Krol each connected for 19 points. Smolenak also collected eight rebounds, distributed four assists and recorded four steals. Krol nabbed seven rebounds, dished out four assists, made four steals and blocked three shots.
Maclaine Murad provided 13-point support for the Lady Bulldogs who have a Thursday night road test at Barnesville.
Bridgeport shot 24-of-55 from the field and was charted for nine turnovers. Central went 13-of-34 from the perimeter and was guilty of 19 giveaways.
SHADYSIDE 56 SHENANDOAH 45
AT Sarahsville. the visiting Lady Tigers outpointed host Shenandoah 19-9 in the final eight minutes to break open a tight game and go on to post a 56-45 victory.
Coach Tina Yates' club led 13-6 after one panel and took a 25-21 upperhand to the lockerroom at halftime. The Lady Zeps were within 37-36 after three panels.
Veteran guards Hayley Holenka (24) and Karli Bonar (22) combined for 46 of the LT's total. Kristen Fijalkowski landed nine of her team's 26 rebounds. Bonar and Holenka recorded six and five steals, respectively.
Shenandoah's Kaysey King topped the hosts with 11 counters. Lydia Fogle and Ashlee Wukelich netted nine points apiece.
The LT's are back home for a key Thursday night tipoff with River.
MONROE CENTRAL 61 BARNESVILLE 27
AT Barnesville, the Lady Seminoles raced to 17-7 command after one period and went on to upend the Shamrocks. The Noles led 35-13 at halftime and 51-18 after three panels.
Double digit scorers for Troy Baker's now 7-6 quint included Chelsie Roberts (19) and Chelsie Tewanger (15). Tewanger recorded eight steals while Roberts landed six rebounds. Monroe was a 28-19 leader off the glass.
Freshman Shayla Markovich posted team highs of eight points and eight boards for Barnesville which dropped to 4-7.
The Lady Shamrocks were charted for 24 turnovers compared to eight committed by Monroe Central.
ST. JOHN 50 JEFF. COUNTY CHRISTIAN 28
AT BELLAIRE, St. John Central earned its fourth win in seven starts with a decisive nod over Jefferson County Christian, 50-28
After mounting a 10-8 lead after one period, SJC extended its advantage to 25-15 at halftime. The Green maintained 39-23 command after three panels.
Alex Francis connected for a game-leading 16 tallies for St. John's. Junior Garrett Holubeck provided 12-point support. DJ Shoemaker landed eight rebounds and Holubeck hauled down seven for the victorious Irish.
Matt Townsend's 13 points paced JCC. Wes Seabright netted nine markers.
St. John's returns to action Friday, appearing in a tournament hosted by Tyler Consolidated.
The Irish oppose Clay-Battelle in a 6 p.m. tipoff.
