COLERAIN - A two-vehicle accident Saturday night has left a Martins Ferry resident in serious condition at Ohio Valley Medical Center.
According to the St. Clairsville Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol, at approximately 8:42 p.m. Saturday, a head-on collision was reported to 911 as crews from Sunset Heights and Colerain were dispatched tp 55363 Colerain Pike.
Martins Ferry Station 28 was called for mutual aide.
A MILK hauler and car collided on Colerain Pike Saturday night. The female drive of the car was transported to an area hospital, while the driver of the milk hauler was uninjured. Colerain Pike was closed for approximately 30-45 minutes while emergency crews repsonded.
A semi hauling milk was headed north and a late model 4-door car which was headed south when they collided. The semi went off the right side of the road and the car eneded up on the left side of the road in a field.
The car's female driver had to be extricated from the passenger's side of her vehicle and taken to a local hospital with serious injuries, unknown how serious at the times this report was written, according to a dispathcer at the OHP Sunday afternoon.
The OHP is investigating the accident. Colerain Pike was closed for approximately 30-45 minutes.
The driver of the milk hauler was not hurt.
Both vehicles sustained serious damage.
