KNDLER, Dr. Dorsey B. Jr., passed away January 9, 2013.
He was born August 31, 1951 in Oakland, California to Dorsey and Jane Kindler.
He grew up in St. Clairsville, OH, along with his older sister, Karen and two younger brothers, Dean and Doug.
He graduated from St. Clairsville High School in 1969 and attended Ohio State University where he obtained his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in June 1976. He married his college sweetheart, Jennifer, and they returned to the Ohio Valley to open his own practice, The Kindler Animal Hospital.
As well as a wonderful veterinarian, Dorsey was a devoted husband, father, son and son-in-law. He was selfless in his love of his family and had an incredible sense of humor that will be missed by all that knew him. He was a man of exceptional integrity in both his personal and professional life. He enjoyed being outdoors on his family farm, horseback riding, reading, swimming, and spending time with his family.
He retired in 2011 to Prescott Valley, AZ, where he enjoyed volunteering for Horses With Heart, an organization to helped disabled children and adults ride horses. He obtained his Arizona Veterinary license to volunteer at the local animal shelter.
Dorsey is preceded in death by his mother, Jane Kindler and is survived by his wife Jennifer of Prescott Valley; son, Dorsey of Davis, CA; daughter, Kerry and husband, John Tarr of Phoenix, AZ; father, Dorsey B. Kindler Sr. and mother-in-law, Mary George of St. Clairsville.
His family will be spreading his ashes on the family farm later this year.
