BRIDGEPORT -- With the OVAC playoffs on the docket next week and sectional tournament just around the corner, Bridgeport head coach Rob Zitzelsberger had to keep his team focused on the action Monday night inside the John J. Havlicek Gymnasium.
Showing no signs of distraction the Lady Bulldogs had little trouble dispatching visiting Barnesville, 71-42.
"We felt that this game was important because tonight is the cutoff date for the OVAC Basketball Championships," Bridgeport's coach added. "One of our goals this season was to end up on top of the OVAC.

"You have to give Barnesville credit," complimented Zitzelsberger. "They played with energy and enthusiasm tonight."
Shamrocks' head coach Jamie Carpenter knew his team had only a long shot at playing spoiler but overall was not disappointed in the outing,
"We played much better than tonight in the first game at home. We were mesmerized by Bridgeport," Carpenter stated. " Tonight I am still proud of our girls, we played with a little heart and some good effort and we showed improvements."
The Bulldogs had a pair finishing with 17 points as Nicole Smolenak and Caitlyn Kroll lit up the home side of the scoreboard. Maclaine Murad finished with 14 points and eight rebounds for Bridgeport.
Shayla Markovich was the only player for Barnesville in double figures with 13 points.
The Bulldogs close out their regular season Wednesday night at St. Clairsville while the Shamrocks host Union Local Thursday evening.
