School off lockdown; suspect arrested

SHADYSIDE - Jefferson Elementary School is no longer on lockdown after authorities arrested a man who was allegedly walking back and forth in front of the school early Friday morning wearing a ski mask and carrying a bow and arrow.

The call originally came into Belmont County 911 with officers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Belmont County Sheriff's Office, Bridgeport and Bellaire joining Shadyside Police Department officers on scene.

The suspect, who the Shadyside police have dealth with in the past, was taken to the county jail. Officials are not release the charges, or the suspect's name, until all necessary information has been gathered.

The suspect was charged with inducing panic and having weapons under disability.
