Here, she will be joining her husband Ervin W. Morris, who passed away April 29, 2011 at the age of 96.
She was born on a farm in Amsterdam, Ohio, one of ten children of the late Mike and Anna Smith. Although she met and later married her husband Ervin here, they lived most of their 72 years of marriage in Rayland, Ohio before moving to a Senior Apartment Complex in Twinsburg, Ohio over 6 years ago.
Magdalen worked as a nurses aid at the Martins Ferry Hospital and was very active with St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Tiltonsville, Ohio. She was a member of the St. Joseph's School P.T.A., a regular worker of the Church Bingo, and a member of the Women's Club, St. Francis Club, and started The Special People Party.
She is the loving mother of her daughters Diann Elek (Steve) of Pickerington, Ohio and Joyce Sanford (Roger) of Twinsburg, Ohio. Grandmother of five grandchildren, Stephen Elek, Deborah Taulbee (Terry), Denise Sekerak (Terry), Tina Shuster (Karl), and Michelle Sanford. Fifteen great-grandchildren and five great-great- grandchildren.
Following her Mass of Christian Burial at SS. Cosmas and Damian Catholic Church in Twinsburg, Ohio on Tuesday she will be entombed next to her husband Ervin at The Ft. Steuben Burial Estate in Wintersville, Ohio on Wednesday at 11 a.m.
The family requests that donations be made in her name to the Crossroads Hospice, 3743 Boettler Oaks Dr. Suite E, Uniontown, Ohio 44685.
