Get Organized!

Use your smartphone to track your budget and more

The one day every girl dreams of is just a few months out, and she's not really sure how to keep it all together without getting frazzled. Luckily, new and emerging ways of keeping track of every aspect of the big day have emerged including smartphone apps.

With many of the tasks associated with wedding planning, brides once kept track of it all in a bound composition book or maybe a big folder who only one person could tote around. With some of the new apps available to soon-to-be brides, everyone can keep on the same page throughout the entire process.

Countdowns, guest lists - even finding vendors and services - are pulled together all in one place. Once you search a little bit for more than the cheesy, corny, countdown apps, some very useful apps can be found. Most of which are worth using will have more than 1000 reviews with four or more stars out of the possible five.

Some notables that stood out for each platforms were Wedding Plandroid and Our Wedding Planner on the Android side. In the Apple App Store, The Knot Wedding Planner, WeddingHappy-Wedding Planner, and Wedding Planner Complete stood out.

Some of the features of the apps include guest list organization, which allows you to import contacts from your phone, Microsoft Excel, sheets or manually. Once entered, mass communication can be had to better convey updates or messages about the wedding.

Vendor services can also be kept for things such as church, dining halls, limo services and flowers. Any specialty service can be searched and documented for future reference. Some even include budget features that allow you to designate portions of the total budget to each.

Seating charts are included in most top tier apps, which can be streamlined directly for the guest list section or RSVP section. As you receive RSVPs, you can begin to keep track of those who have responded to your invitation, whether it be verbally or formally - you can keep track of it all in one place.

Since you only get one wedding day, many people are unfamiliar with the time frame of when they should be completing certain tasks. In comes the timeline and suggestions of some of the well thought out applications. After entering the date of wedding, some apps 'suggest' to you when you should begin certain tasks, like booking venues or buying dresses and tuxes, hopefully keeping you right on track.

The last service which stuck out was a feature that allows you to send guests photos of your wedding through email. Once signed in, each picture that is taken on the big day is uploaded into one timeline where everyone can contribute their pictures from all angles. Looking through a streamlined flow of pictures, which even go as far as sequentially placing the picture in order down to the minute, would be a very unique and exciting keepsake.

When looking to knock out challenges of your wedding, look around for some technology to help ease the worry and burden of planning one of the most memorable days of your life.
